Nuclearelectrica (SNN) expects to achieve 2015 a net profit of 38.3 million lei, down by 71.2% compared to the previous year. The result will be earmarked by a decrease in gross profit by nearly 65% to 54.2 million lei, according to the balance sheet estimates published on the company website.

At the same time, total revenue will decrease by only 1.3% to 1.884 billion lei, while total spending will increase by 4.3%, according to the document seen by energynomics.ro. The decrease in profit can be explained not only by the increase in total expenditures and drop in revenues, but also by a surge in investment by almost 23%, to 493.6 million lei.

“Investments still remain the only solid way to development, as the energy sector needs long-term planning based on accurate analyses. Anything less will hinder both medium and long-term benefits for the system and end consumers”, Daniela Lulache, CEO of Nuclearelectrica, previously told energynomics.ro.
