Approximately 3.5 million households will benefit from the energy voucher that will apply from July 1 and which could be worth 36 lei (about 7 euro) or 72 lei, according to the president of the National Energy Regulatory Authority, George Niculescu. Later, the market circulated that only the 36 lei voucher would remain in force.
At the same time, the President of ANRE also requested the initiation of an analysis to see exactly how the price of electricity is formed and to determine whether the value of 1.45-1.55 lei/KWh announced by suppliers is sustainable.
“Last week, I had several public appearances on this subject and presented to the public opinion what is happening in the price comparator, which ANRE has made available to energy consumers, with the prices that are to be charged by suppliers, starting with July 1. And I noticed from this analysis that a supplier has an offer of approximately 1.02 lei per kWh, and most suppliers, depending on market share, of course, are grouped around the value of 1.45-1.55 lei. I want to tell you that this led me to ask my colleagues in the authority to start an analysis and see exactly how the price is formed, what is the average purchase price of these suppliers for electricity, to compose the price from all the tariffs that they have to set and to see what value we arrive at, in such a way as to determine whether the value of 1.45-1.55 is sustainable from the point of view of energy purchase.” “We have started this analysis,” Niculescu told B1 TV.
“From the analyses carried out at the level of the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Energy, in which the Regulatory Authority also participated (…) it emerged that approximately 3.5 million households in Romania will benefit from this energy voucher that will be applied starting July 1. The income per family head, per household, was taken into account, and these consumption places were determined, as I was telling you, approximately 3.5 million consumption places will be protected even after July 1,” Niculescu said, as quoted by Agerpres.
He specified that the income limit will be approximately 2,700 lei per person and that discussions are still ongoing regarding the value of the voucher.
“There were two proposals that were made, to have a voucher worth 36 lei or 72 lei. I want to tell you that today, at 12:00, there is another meeting between the two ministries to which ANRE was invited to participate and we will participate. We are seeing exactly what the final decisions that the two ministries will make are. Our role at these meetings is to provide specific data regarding consumption, consumption installments, contracts and so on. On the part of establishing the voucher, obviously things must be discussed from our point of view and with the Ministry of Finance in such a way that the impact on the budget is sustainable”, explained the ANRE president.
