Most of Romanians consider important increasing the energy efficiency of buildings

Eight out of ten Romanians believe that improving the energy performance of buildings is a very important initiative, which helps in the long term to reduce the energy resources used, according to the results of a study published on Thursday.

Data centralized by Reveal Marketing Research and “Efficient Romania” reveal that, for 67% of respondents, reducing energy costs is the most popular advantage of living in an energy efficient home.

Also, the majority of those surveyed (92%), from the urban environment, consider the price of electricity an aspect they are concerned about to a great extent, and the main reason for saving electricity is cost reduction (66%). Moreover, this is also considered the biggest advantage for energy efficiency measures (67%).

According to the study, combating energy waste has an impact both on an individual level and on the environment, in a context in which 81% of respondents agree that energy waste contributes to the acceleration of climate change, while 71% are largely concerned measure of the impact of energy consumption on the environment.

Regarding the aspects of life that are influenced by energy efficiency, utility costs take the first position (22%), followed by personal comfort of individuals (19%) and personal health (18%).

At a general level, eight out of ten Romanians say that improving the energy performance of buildings is a very important initiative, which can help in the long term to reduce the energy resources used.

The Reveal Marketing Research study was conducted online at the behest of the “Efficient Romania” program, between June 7 and 10, 2022, on a sample of 806 respondents. The maximum sampling error is +/-3.5% at a 95% confidence level.
