MDRAP purchases 9 electric buses and 12 charging stations for Lugoj

Nine electric buses, three fast charging and nine slow charging stations will be purchased with European funds provided through the Regional Operational Program (POR) 2014-2020, coordinated by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration (MDRAP), the institution announced.

The project financing order was signed on October 23, 2019, by the Deputy Prime Minister Vasile-Daniel Suciu, the Minister of Regional Development and Public Administration, and the investment will be implemented by the MDRAP (as a partnership leader) and the municipality of Lugoj (as partner).

The objective of the project is to improve the public transport by renewing the rolling stock on the routes in the municipality of Lugoj (Timiş county), and each bus will have a length of about 10 m and a capacity of at least 50 passengers. The value of the non-reimbursable financing is of 21.95 million lei, and the implementation period, of 48 months.
