The approval of Romania’s Energy Strategy by the Parliament will eliminate possible internal political dissensions and strengthen our position in the EU, stated Andrei Maioreanu, former Secretary of State in the Ministry of Energy, after the publication in decisional transparency of the Draft Decision for the approval of Romania’s Energy Strategy 2022-2030, with the perspective of 2050.

“The evolution of the Romanian energy field seems to be getting more and more complicated. There are problems along the entire circuit – from the producer to the final consumer. From this perspective, but also to support energy companies, I proposed to my fellow parliamentarians from Gorj County an amendment to Law 123/2012 – Energy and Natural Gas Law. We proposed that Romania’s Energy Strategy become a law approved by the Parliament. Until this moment, the Energy Strategy was adopted by Government Decision. By moving the level of approval from the Government to the Parliament, the Energy Strategy will become a law independent of the political color of any Executive. It will be stronger and more difficult to modify depending on the interests of the political parties,” Maioreanu said, according to Financialintelligence.ro.

“The approval of Romania’s Energy Strategy by Parliament will eliminate possible internal political dissensions and strengthen our position in the EU. Equally, it is an approach that is as constructive as possible and for the benefit of everyone – from producers to consumers of electricity. We have resources, we have very good quality energy workers, we have good company managers, it’s time to put things on a serious footing that they all need. The energy sector is in itself a fundamental resource of the Romanian economy!”
