LED luminaries will represent 90% of all the lighting market by 2030, compared to just 1% in 2010. While technology is advancing at an unprecedented pace, it will provide triple-win solutions for consumers, the environment and the economy.

„The world is changing and we, as a company, are preparing for these new global trends. While the population is growing, the resources are missing more and more from the market and digitalization is a new reality”, according to Angel Angelov, Key Account Manager CSI Signify.

On the same time, the economy and society are going towards a circular economy switching from the previous consumption behaviors.

„Previously we had a so-called linear society: we consumed, we focused on the GDP, we used products and then we threw them away”, he said at the conference “Regional Approach Sofia – Energy Goes Both Ways”, organized by Energynomics. But now we are witnessing a more and more circular economy and we are focused on economic and ecological aspects”, Angelov added.

The company is providing energy-efficient lighting solutions with the potential of saving 40% of the electricity. On the other hand, Signify can reach a level of 75% fewer carbon emissions on producing specific products.

In 2006, the cost of lighting was 20% but after introducing the LED systems the cost dropped to 15% and it will continue to go down to 8% by 2030 or even sooner as policy frameworks will accelerate market adoption of innovation and drive phase-out of costly in-efficient technologies that are a burden to the environment and budgets.

„Even a year ago many investors didn’t think that efficient lightning was important but now, due to these high energy prices, I can assure you that many people, companies and also municipalities are counting every single Euro the spend on energy”, Angelov concluded.

The conference “Regional Approach Sofia – Energy Goes Both Ways” was organized by Energynomics with the support of our partners: ABB România, Electro-Service RB, Kawasaki Gas Turbine Europe, Signify.
