The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, had discussions with his German counterpart, Katherina Reiche, and with Levin Holle, State Counsellor within the Federal Chancellery, following which clear directions were established for a strategic partnership between Romania and Germany in the field of energy.

“Romanian energy must work for the Romanian economy! I had practical discussions with my German counterpart, Katherina Reiche, Federal Minister of Economy and Energy, and with Dr. Levin Holle, State Counsellor within the Federal Chancellery responsible for economic and financial policy, together with representatives of the largest companies in Germany. Together we have established clear directions for a strategic partnership between Romania and Germany in the field of energy, from natural gas and nuclear energy, to solar and wind energy”, the minister wrote on his official Facebook page, according to Agerpres.

He stressed that the ministry’s objectives are to increase the production and storage capacity of electricity, to use the gas and energy produced in Romania to develop the petrochemical industry and other industrial branches with added value, and to transform “our resources into jobs and prosperity for Romanians.”
