INS: The electricity consumption of the population increased by 18.5%, in H1

The final consumption of electricity registered in Romania, in the first half (H1) of the year, decreased by 0.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, while the population consumption increased by 18.5%, according to data published by the Institute of National Statistics (INS).

At the same time, between January 1 and June 30, 2019, primary energy resources increased by 1.4%, and those of electricity decreased by 3.2%, compared to the same period of the previous year.

According to statistics, the main primary energy resources totaled 17.239 million tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), increasing by 241.000 toe compared to the first six months of 2018.

Also, in the reference period, domestic production amounted to 10.178 million toe, decreasing by 155,600 toe, while the import was 7.060 million toe, according to Agerpres.

At the same time, the electricity resources were 32.883 billion kWh, decreasing by 1.099 billion kWh, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, and the production from the thermal power plants stood at 11.598 billion kWh, decreasing by 1.404 billion kWh (-10.8%).
