INS revised upward the economic evolution in the first 9 months of last year; GDP rose by 0.9%

    The National Institute of Statistics (INS) revised upward the economic evolution in the period January 1 – September 30, 2025, which rose by 0.9% on the gross series and by 1.5% on the seasonally adjusted series, compared to the similar period in 2024, according to provisional data.

    The INS announced on December 5 that the Romanian economy rose, in the first nine months of 2025, by 0.8% on the gross series and by 1.4% on the seasonally adjusted series, compared to the similar period in 2024, while in the third quarter of 2025 the Gross Domestic Product decreased in real terms by 0.2% compared to the previous quarter, according to provisional data cited by Agerpres.

    INS data show that the Gross Domestic Product – seasonally adjusted data – estimated for the third quarter of 2025 was 486.793 billion lei at current prices, lower by 0.2% – in real terms – compared to the previous quarter and increasing by 1.5% compared to the third quarter of 2024.

    The estimated gross domestic product for the period January 1 – September 30, 2025 was 1,416.05 billion lei at current prices, increasing – in real terms – by 1.5% compared to the period January 1 – September 30, 2024.

    By gross series, the estimated Gross Domestic Product for the third quarter of 2025 was 518.092 billion lei at current prices, increasing – in real terms – by 1.7% compared to the third quarter of 2024.

    The estimated gross domestic product for the period January 1 – September 30, 2025 was 1,339.921 billion lei current prices, increasing – in real terms – by 0.9% compared to the period January 1 – September 30, 2024.
