Hidroelectrica recorded a 1.1 billion lei gross profit

Hidroelectrica registered last year a gross profit of 1.1 billion lei (248 million euros), lower than the one registered in 2014, but the highest reported to the energy production, which means that the stateowned company sold more of its generated electricity. Turnover reached about 3.19 billion lei. (About 703.8 million euros).

“It is the best financial result ever achieved by Hidroelectrica reported to the energy production. Thus in 2015 Hidroelectrica has achieved a production of 15.9 TWh, with 2.5 TWh less than in 2014, when Hidroelectrica reported a production of 18.4 TWh, a turnover of 3.4 billion lei and a profit of 1.15 billion. Hidroelectrica profit recorded in 2015 is 3.5 times higher than the profit reported in 2010, 292 million, corresponding to a record production of 19.8 TWh. It is the third consecutive year in which Hidroelectrica has profit. The cumulated profit in the three years of insolvency exceeds 3.1 billion lei, demonstrating the viability and effectiveness of the Reorganization Plan implemented by Euro Insol at Hidroelectrica” said Remus Borza, the Representative of the judicial administrator of Hidroelectrica.

In 2015 Hidroelectrica has made an investment budget for the next five years of 1.3 billion euros. From this investment budget, 75 million euros were allocated for the refurbishment of the Stejaru plant and 240 million euros for upgrading other three hydropower plants (Vidraru, Mariselu, Raul Mare Retezat).

“In 2015 the group 2 from the CHE Racoviţă was put online (30 MW of installed capacity), an investment of 160 million euros, completed the longest gallery adduction (Siriu Surduc) commissioned in Romania after 1987, with the overall length of 16 642 m and a value of 150 million euros. In 2015 the funding for the Dumitra and Bumbeşti plants was resumed, following that the commissioning of CHE Dumitra (21 MW installed capacity) will be performed in 2017 and at CHE Bumbeşti (41 MW installed capacity) in October 2017. The renegociated value of the two plants is 200 million euros”, adds the company.

In March 2016 Hidroelectrica will operate the plant at Bretea (12 MW installed capacity) and an investment value of 46 million euros, while in November 2016 the plant at Răstoliţa (24 MW installed capacity) and an investment value of 333 million euros, while the 2018 connects to the core network Siriu Surduc (50 MW installed capacity) and an investment value of 350 million euros.
