Greenvolt Next, part of the Greenvolt Group, announces the completion of five photovoltaic projects for the commercial and industrial sector in the Moldova region, with a cumulative installed capacity of 1.32 MW. Four of the projects are already operational, while the fifth is in the final phase of implementation.
These projects allow local generation of electricity for self-consumption, reducing dependence on grid companies and exposure to market price volatility, while contributing to reducing the carbon footprint. On average, beneficiaries achieve a grid independence rate of up to 40% and savings of almost 40% on their annual electricity bill.
The five photovoltaic systems were developed for companies operating in sectors relevant to the regional economy, such as construction, hospitality, metal processing and the food industry. The installations include both rooftop and carport systems, with specific adaptations to the different technical requirements of each location. Four of these installations are already operational, contributing to covering a significant part of the beneficiaries’ energy consumption:
- FIBROBETON, a company in the construction sector, Neamț County – rooftop system with a capacity of 479 kW, achieving an energy independence rate of 20% and annual savings of 10%
- TRANSMIR, also active in the construction sector, Bârlad – rooftop system of 404 kW, achieving an energy independence rate of 63% and annual savings of 39%
- Simba, a company in the HoReCa segment, Vaslui – rooftop system of 127 kW, achieving an energy independence rate of 39% and annual savings of 37%
- Trans-Gigel, a dairy and cheese producer, Iași – rooftop system of 120 kW, achieving an energy independence rate of 42% and annual savings of 23%
The project The 189 kW Sudometal, which also includes a carport structure, allowing for an energy independence rate of 33% and annual savings of 17%, will become operational shortly after the completion of the remaining technical stages.
Under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), beneficiaries access clean energy generated by solar installations without any investment, paying for the energy consumed at competitive and stable prices over the duration of the contracts, which range from 5 to 15 years. Upon completion of the contract, ownership of the system is transferred to the customer at 0 costs, with an installation with a remaining useful life of up to 25 years representing significant additional value beyond the contractual period.
