Greenvolt Next Romania, part of the Greenvolt Group, is developing 11 renewable energy projects in Dobrogea, with a total installed capacity of approximately 2.5 MW. The projects are being developed for companies in eight sectors of activity from the food and hospitality industry to construction or recycling, with a total investment of approximately 1.6 million euros, the company announced.

All 11 projects are fully financed by Greenvolt Next Romania, which means that the beneficiaries do not bear any investment costs. The business model brought by Greenvolt Next to Romania and implemented in Dobrogea is based on PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) contracts with durations between 5 and 10 years, through which companies purchase the energy produced by the installed system at a fixed contractual rate, for the entire duration of the agreement. Upon contract completion, ownership of the system is transferred to the customer at zero cost, with the installation having a remaining useful life of up to 25 years, a significant additional value beyond the contract period.

The Dobrogea portfolio generates an average self-consumption rate of approximately 70%, measured against the total consumption of the beneficiaries. The total savings of the companies, estimated at the regional portfolio level, exceed 1.8 million euros over the duration of the contracts, as the pressure on energy costs remains one of the main factors eroding competitiveness.

In the case of Dobrogea Group, one of the best-known groups in the Romanian bakery and pastry industry, Greenvolt Next has developed two distinct photovoltaic projects, with a cumulative installed capacity of approximately 795 kWp. Together, the two projects are estimated to generate savings of over 150,000 euros over the duration of the contracts.

Beyond the installation of photovoltaic systems, the projects also included site-specific adaptation works, from the renovation of roofs to the implementation of dedicated structures for ground-mounted systems, with concrete foundations designed to respond to unstable ground conditions and to ensure the stability and durability of the installations in the long term. All these works were included in the PPA solution, without requiring initial investments or additional costs from the client.

In a different context, but with similar objectives, Greenvolt Next developed two photovoltaic projects for La Scoica Land Hotel and La Scoica Pizzerie, part of one of the most well-known groups in the hospitality industry on the Romanian coast. The two systems have a cumulative installed capacity of approximately 185 kWp and will generate savings of approximately 200,000 euros for the beneficiary over the duration of the contracts.

Filipe Dias, Country Manager Greenvolt Next Romania, highlighted the diversity of the portfolio in Dobrogea.

“There are 11 companies from eight different fields of activity, which shows Greenvolt Next’s ability to adapt and deliver. Each project starts from the operational reality of the client and is built around the way they consume energy, but also the space they have available. We have a complete set of solutions that can be adapted to the profile of any company, including the installation of systems on the ground, on carport-type structures in the parking area or on roofs. The PPA contract model that we brought to Romania is increasingly demonstrating its viability, and companies are adopting the implementation of photovoltaic systems for self-consumption. Benefits such as zero initial investment, fixed price for the entire duration of the contract for the energy generated and ownership of the system at the end of the contracted period are concrete and convincing arguments,” said Filipe Dias, Country Manager Greenvolt Next Romania.

The Dobrogea portfolio completes the series of projects developed in recent years by Greenvolt Next in several regions of Romania. Through the photovoltaic systems implemented in this area, the company contributes to avoiding approximately 1,255 tons of CO2 emissions each year. At the national level, Greenvolt Next currently has a portfolio of 38.7 MWp of contracted capacity, 19.2 MWp of installed capacity and over 140 customers.
