Premier Sorin Grindeanu decided on Monday to replace Dorel Fronea from his position as Head of Customs, as well as Carmen-Elena Tatu, General Inspector in the ANAF’s General Anti-Fraud Directorate.

ANAF Vice-President Dorel Fronea, with the rank of Undersecretary of State, had been the coordinator of the customs structures since July 2016, when he was appointed by Premier Dacian Ciolos.

On the other hand, the staff from the National Environmental Guard (NFM) across the country announced that they are entering in general strike for an unlimited period starting from Wednesday 10 May. The protest is meant to express “dissatisfaction and indignation for the wage inequality that exists in the field of environmental protection”. “Although environmental protection is an area of strategic importance, representing a vulnerability, a risk and a priority according to the National Defense Strategy, employees of the National Environmental Guard have not benefited from no salary growth since 2009, being remunerated in present according to the lowest salary scale in the entire budget system”, says a press release of the National Guard of the Environmental union.
