Gazprom’s natural gas exports to countries outside the former Soviet Union fell 32.6 percent in the first two months of this year compared to a similar period in 2021 to 23.2 billion cubic meters (bcm), Reuters reports.

The Russian company also reported that its gas production in January-February 2022 was of 84.9 bcm, a level similar to the first two months of 2021.

In 2021, Gazprom’s gas exports to countries outside the former Soviet Union rose by 5.8 bcm to 185.1 bcm in 2021, and gas production increased by 62.2 bcm to 514.8 bcm, the highest level in the last 13 years.

The Russian company expects to report record gains for 2021 following high gas prices in Europe.
