The consumption of natural gas at the national level in the first 6 months of 2023 registered a decrease compared to the similar period of the previous year of approximately 12.4%, and Romgaz deliveries decreased by 5.7%, it is stated in a communicated.

Thus, the market share of Romgaz is 47.8%, 3.4% higher than the share held in the similar period of last year.

Natural gas production, achieved in the first six months of 2023, was 2.38 billion cubic meters, which means a 5.2% decline in production compared to the production recorded in the first semester of 2022.

At the same time, Romania has stored 2.553 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 603 million cubic meters more than the same date last year, which corresponds to a percentage of 80.17% of the country’s total capacity, according to Ion Sterian, general manager of Transgaz, quoted by Agerpres.

Romania’s total storage capacity is of 3.170 billion cubic meters this year, 100 million cubic meters more than last year, as a result of Depogaz’s investments (Natural Gas Storage Branch Depogaz Ploiesti SRL, wholly owned by Romgaz, e.n.).
