Former Finance Minister in Cioloş Cabinet, Anca Dragu, will take the post of Deputy General Manager of E.ON Romania, one of the main suppliers of gas and electricity on the local market, starting next week.

As a Board Member, Anca Dragu will be in charge of Public Affairs, Regulatory, Communication and CSR, according to Newsenergy.ro. „After so many years of experience in the public sector at national and international level, it is challenging and a honor to be part of the leadership of such a large private company. The private sector is the most important in the economy, without it the public sector does not exist, so I think that the latter has to work in support and for the development of the former”, Anca Dragu told NewsEnergy.

Anca Paliu Dragu was only the second woman appointed as Minister of Finance in the history of Romania, holding the Finance portfolio from November 2015 until the beginning of January 2017. Previously, since 2013, she has been an economic analyst in the European Commission’s General Directorate for Economy and Finance after working for 12 years, from 2001 to 2013, in the IMF Bucharest office. Between 1996-2001, Anca Paliu Dragu was an economist at the National Bank.

E.ON Romania is the central company that supports and coordinates the operations of the E.ON Group in the energy sector in Romania. The German group E.ON entered Romania in 2005, when it took over some of the former state-owned companies in the field of natural gas and electricity. Companies in the E.ON Group structure currently operate a natural gas distribution network with a length of more than 21,650 km, an electricity distribution network of over 81,500 kilometers and they operate in 20 counties in the Northern half of the country, with about 3.1 million customers. The general manager of the company is Frank Hajdinjak.
