PNL supports two solutions for the energy market: the one-month payment of forward energy contracts in order to avoid speculations, and state-owned companies should stop selling all production within forward contracts, said PNL leader Florin Cîţu.

“On the forward market…today you do not need to pay anything until you complete the contract. There is this form of contract. We want to propose that, in a certain period of time, say a month, after this contract is concluded, you come with the money and pay because, in this way, the one who wants to speculate would not do it anymore, because they should have to put the money down,” said Cîțu, according to financialintelligence.ro.

“Also, the Romanian state companies, in a period of crisis… maybe we should not let them sell all their production on the forward market, at least a part should be kept for crisis situations. Let’s say that in such a period, companies can only sell a certain amount of production on the forward market.

“Unfortunately, this year we have already sold most of our energy production. But we have to learn our lesson. What happened in Romania happened in other markets as well.”
