The international rating agency Fitch Ratings has reconfirmed the long-term rating of Societăția Energetica Electrica SA at ”BBB minus” with stable outlook, according to a press release published on the Bucharest Stock Exchange website.
“This confirmation comes at a time of maturity for the Group, validating the resilience of our business model after the success recorded in 2025 by moving from ‘Negative’ to ‘Stable’ outlook and reflecting Electrica’s ability to maintain its financial stability and solid credit profile, supported by remarkable operational performance and a predictable regulatory framework. We believe that the maintenance of the rating by Fitch Ratings is a confirmation that the Group has entered a sustainable growth cycle. By optimizing the financing structure and focusing on operational efficiency, we reconfirm our status as a key player on the energy market and a stable and attractive issuer for the investor community,” said the company’s CEO, Alexandru Chiriță, according to Agerpres.
Electrica’s positive evolution is supported by the remarkable preliminary financial results reported for 2025. The Group recorded a record net profit of 1.22 billion lei, representing a 159% increase compared to the year previously, while EBITDA rose to 2.38 billion lei, 64.5% above the 2024 level.
“These historical figures reflect increased operational efficiency and optimal capital management, elements that allowed exceeding the planned investment program, with a commissioning achievement rate of 115% compared to the established target. The increase in the regulated asset base to over 8.6 billion lei strengthens the predictability of future cash flows and underpins the maintenance of long-term financial stability”, the press release also states.
