Fitch Ratings attributed Transgaz, the operator of the national gas transmission system in Romania, the long-term rating ‘BBB minus’, the associated perspective being stable, a release of the financial assessment agency reports.

The Transgaz rating reflects the company’s solid business profile as the operator and concessionaire of the national gas transmission system in Romania, as well as the expectations of a progressive contracting of the international gas transit business from traditional routes.

The rating is supported by the country’s gas transport regulations and Fitch’s expectation that the current massive BRUA investment will be added to the regulated asset base of Transgaz, supporting future gains, reads the release quoted by Agerpres.

BRUA gas interconnector will ensure gas supply on the Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary-Austria route.
