Eurowind Energy Romania announces the obtaining of Technical Connection Permits for 2,307.4 MW of renewable capacity. The permits were obtained in June 2026 for seven renewable energy projects – wind, photovoltaic and battery storage, which the company is to develop in Albeşti (900 MW, wind, Constanța County), Mănești (49 MW, photovoltaic + BESS, Prahova County), Botoșani County (1,188 MW, wind), Stăncuța (49.6 MW, wind, Brăila County), Liești (49.6 MW, wind, Galați County), Slobozia Conachi (49.6MW, wind, Galați County), Pechea (21.6 MW, wind, Galați County).
The obtained Technical Connection Approvals represent the essential step towards connecting the future parks to the grid.
“We currently have a pipeline of approximately 7.5 GW in various stages of development and have already started work on the Frumușița and Vector wind farms in Galați County and Pecineaga Nord-Est in Constanța County – a total of 138 MW of clean energy on the grid. Obtaining the technical connection approvals for an additional 2,307.4 MW of capacity represents an essential step in the development of our project portfolio and directly contributes to the national energy transition objectives. The projects are scheduled for connection to the national energy system after 2030, but their connection and the completion of the investment depend on the consolidation of the grid and the timely obtaining of construction permits. We are taking all necessary steps and working closely with the grid operators and authorities to carry out these projects”, says Adrian Dobre, Country Manager Eurowind Energy Romania.
The largest of the projects is to be developed in Botoșani County and aims to reach an installed capacity of approximately 1,188 MW, contributing to ensuring Romania’s energy security and the desire to become a potentially important exporter of renewable energy in the region. The project involves the phased construction of nine wind farms located within Botoșani County, with an execution schedule that will start around 2031.
Active on the local market since 2011, Eurowind Energy Romania develops and operates renewable energy projects, with a dedicated local team.
