Eurowind Energy Romania announces the development of the Siminoc project, a wind-photovoltaic park located in Constanta County, with an estimated investment of approximately 65 million euros. The project benefits from support through the Contracts for Difference (CfD) mechanism, which provides stability to the investment and supports predictable execution.
The Siminoc project has a total installed capacity of approximately 49.6 MW, divided in a balanced manner between the wind and photovoltaic components, each of approximately 24.8 MW. Based on current technical modeling, annual production is estimated at approximately 120 GWh, equivalent to the consumption of over 50,000 households.
The implementation schedule foresees the completion of the approval stages and obtaining the construction permit in the first half of 2026, the start of works in 2027 and the commissioning in 2028, with possible adjustments depending on the pace of administrative procedures and the scheduling of connection windows. The selection of turbine models and photovoltaic panels, as well as the final configuration of the BESS equipment, are subsequent stages as the project advances in the procurement phase.
Adrian Dobre, Country Manager, Eurowind Energy Romania, stated:
“Siminoc is our first hybrid park in Romania and marks an important step in the evolution of the local portfolio. We no longer view projects as mere production capacities, but as assets that provide real flexibility to the energy system. Combining wind with photovoltaics and, most likely, battery storage allows us to align production to demand, reduce local variability and contribute responsibly to the safe integration of renewable energies.”
At the local level, the project will generate economic activity during the construction period, create temporary jobs and permanent positions during operation, and contribute to community budgets through related taxes and duties. The implementation of the works will be carried out in close collaboration with the authorities and network operators.
Active on the local market since 2011, Eurowind Energy Romania develops and operates renewable energy projects, with a dedicated local team. The company’s portfolio includes four operational solar parks – Hălchiu, Măgurele, Pufești and Teiuș – and a pipeline of approximately 7.5 GW in various stages of development. By the end of Q2 2026, the company will reach an operational capacity of 124 MW in Romania.
