ENEVO Group has been appointed general contractor for the realisation of the Helios Photovoltaic Power Plant (PPP) in Arad, which will have an installed capacity of 85 MW and will be the largest East-West photovoltaic park in the region. The beneficiary of the project is the international company Unigea Solar Projects Romania.
ENEVO Group won this project through the comprehensive and competitive package of specialised services offered, which includes both the construction of the PV power plant and its dispatching, operation and maintenance after commissioning, explains a company press release.
The project also brings a sustainable, innovative approach to the renewable energy market in Romania. “For us it is an interesting challenge to build the park on the former CET Arad’s ash landfill,” said Radu Brașoveanu, Technical Director of ENEVO Group, at the contract signing. “The landfill has been closed and entered a greening project since 2014, being one of the best greening landfills in Romania. The implementation of a renewable energy project on such a site is a practical solution for the environmentally friendly reuse of former industrial land that cannot be otherwise utilised,” he explained.
Unigea Solar Projects Romania, part of the Unigea Group, the beneficiary of the contract, is an international company founded in 2007, based in Germany, focussed on the development of large-scale photovoltaic projects.
