In a period marked by geopolitical tensions and economic challenges, Bogdan Leu, EPG Associate and Director of the Summer School, emphasizes the importance of education and professional training in the energy and climate sectors. The 2026 edition of the EPG Summer School focuses on managing the energy transition in the current context, aiming to prepare young professionals to face emerging challenges in the sector.

The program, which will take place over five days, will bring together 24 participants from ten countries, providing them the opportunity to interact with renowned industry and academic experts. This exchange of ideas is essential for creating an international network of specialists that will contribute to the development of efficient and sustainable energy policies.

“It is more important than ever to help train the energy and climate policy specialists of tomorrow, who can successfully tackle all the challenges in the sector,” stated Bogdan Leu. This approach is crucial, considering that the energy transition requires not only technological innovations but also a well-prepared workforce capable of integrating sustainable solutions into the current operational environment.

Participants will benefit from practical experiences through visits to the Transelectrica Control Center, Mireasa Wind Farm, and the EFdeN Sustainable Campus, providing them with a concrete vision of the implementation of green technologies. Additionally, the visit to a reskilling and upskilling center will highlight the importance of retraining employees from traditional sectors in response to the demands of the green economy.

EPG, an independent think tank dedicated to energy and climate policies, continues to play a significant role in training future leaders in the field. Through initiatives like the EPG Summer School, the organization aims to promote evidence-based dialogue among decision-makers, the energy industry, and the general public, striving for a balance between decarbonization, economic competitiveness, and social equity.

In conclusion, the EPG Summer School 2026 not only prepares a new generation of energy professionals but also contributes to building an international collaborative framework essential for achieving global climate goals. This edition underscores the urgent need for adaptation and innovation in the face of current challenges, providing a platform for developing sustainable solutions in the energy sector.
