Electricity sold on OPCOM\’s day-ahead market (PZU, DAM) rose by 48.29% in June, compared to June 2025, reported in lei, and by 42.78% in euro/MWh, according to OPCOM\’s latest monthly report consulted by Energynomics. The price increased to 644.67 lei in June for one MWh per hour, in lei, or 12.99 euro/MWh.
Total transaction volume decreased by 23.38% in the reported period, and market share lost 15%, which reflects a likely increase in bilateral contracts (mostly unmonitored). In contrast, the total value of transactions advanced by 11.56%, reported in euro (15.83% reported in lei).
In June 2026 compared to May 2026, the market segment lost a share of almost 20%, (from 33.3% to 26.71%), while the average closing price was over 12% (12.78% lei/MWh, or 12.25% euro/MWh). At the same time, transactions were lower by 2.19% in euro.
The total market share of PZU/ DAM in net consumption was of 26.71% in June, at a total transaction value of 117.7 million euro.
At the same time, the market share of intra-day transactions decreased to 3.53%, by almost 35% annualized in June 2026, losing 13% compared to May 2026. The weighted average price in June 2026, annualized, almost doubled, being higher by 97.14% in lei and by 89.91% in euros, at a transaction value of 17 million euros, up by 11.48% (+15.72 in lei), reflecting the loss of about 4% of the exchange rate in the second quarter (from about 5.09 to 5.3 lei/euro). The price recorded on the intra-day segment was 759.42 lei per MWh, or 144.87 euros, according to OPCOM data.
At the same time, on the centralized market for bilateral contracts — PCCB-LE-Flex, the share was 18.22% for contracts with delivery in June 2026, at an average price of 110.88 euros/MWh and a total volume of 67 million euros. Forward contracts negotiated in June reached a similar value of 67.14 million euros, at a weighted average price of 121.19 euros/MWh.
