Romanian gas storage facilities have reached a filling rate of 81.07%, above the European average, this result providing solid premises to achieve the objective of 90% filling rate by November, announced Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan.

“The thrifty man makes his sleigh in the summer and his cart in the winter. We have worked in recent weeks to prepare gas storage facilities for the winter. On August 25, gas storage facilities in Romania reached a filling rate of 81.07%, i.e. 27.45 TWh or approximately 2.6 billion cubic meters of gas. We exceeded the European average of 76.2% in the field, and this result gives us solid premises to achieve the objective of 90% filling rate by November. Through preventive and coordinated actions, we have reduced risks and are contributing to market stability,” the official said, according to Agerpres.

According to the relevant minister, Romania is demonstrating that it uses its resources efficiently and that it can offer citizens energy security in the cold season.
