Enel Distributie Muntenia has completed the rehabilitation works for the 110 kV transformation station in Pipera, from which will benefit approximately 30.000 customers from the neighborhood. The investment value amounts to about 2.6 million lei, according to a press release by energynomics.ro.

The transformation station was commissioned in 1971 and has received over time many works of modernization, including the introduction in the Telecontrol system. This enables the Enel technicians to perform remote energy resupplying maneuvers fast and efficient, when failures occur.

Thus, during July 2015 – June 2016 works were carried out at both the high voltage network and at the medium voltage network, in order to ensure greater security in energy supply and comfort for customers in the served area.

In the process of rehabilitation were included construction elements from the external station, thus improving the level of environmental protection. Also, vertical lightning rods were installed, in order to ensure the protection zone against direct lightning strikes by catching them on poles.

In addition, to improve the technical quality of the electricity distributed to two of the five power transformers, the wafer switches were replaced along with the actuators, which allows the automatic adjustment of the tension in the medium voltage network.

The modernization project is part of a comprehensive investment plan developed by Enel in Romania which aims to improve the quality of services offered to the clients by modernizing and revamping the electrical stations and the implementation of the environmental standards of Enel group.
