Electrica recognizes that there are still cases marked by conflict of interest within the company, but it is “currently investigating the possibility of eliminating” it.

Electrica adopted the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct inclusively at the Group’s level and in Electrica Furnizare and it provides inter alia the implementation of the “Policy on avoiding and combating conflict of interests,” it said in a received by release energynomics.ro.

“On the basis of statements of interest submitted until June 1, 2016 it was carried out a mapping of potential conflicts of interest. They have been identified as pre-existing prior to the adoption of the Policy Code. Electrica group is currently examining the possibility of elimination of conflicts of interest, in compliance with labor laws and other applicable legal provisions,” said the release.

Meanwhile, Electrica is subject to an external audit that analyzes transactions made by Electrica Furnizare with green certificates between April-May 2016.

“The findings of the audit will be communicated as soon as it will be completed, respecting the legislation in force.”

“We reaffirm strongly that Electrica will not make any compromise on possible violations of ethical, fraud and any aspects of non-compliance that may bring image or commercial prejudice, affecting the prestige and performance of the group.”

It was the first company where the state holds an important package of shares to launch a whistleblower campaign.
