Renewable energy producer EDP Renovaveis (EDPR) is looking to sell wind farms in Spain worth around 500 million euros, Spanish publication Expansion announced on Friday, citing sources who wished to remain anonymous, Reuters reports.

EDPR – the world’s fourth-largest producer of renewable energy – has put up for sale nine wind farms with a combined capacity of 256 megawatts (MW), Expansion said.

EDPR representatives did not immediately respond to requests to comment on the information, according to Agerpres.

This month, the company announced that it wants to raise seven billion euros by “spinning assets”, selling operational renewable energy parks to finance new ones.

Spain is attracting many investors in renewable energy projects and several energy companies, such as Iberdrola and Grenergy, have announced asset sales in the country.

Energias de Portugal, the largest utility company in Portugal, owns a 75% stake in EDPR and the two companies are led by the same general manager.

As of December 31, 2022, EDPR had an installed capacity of 14.7 GW.

EDPR operates renewable energy production capacities of 697 Megawatts in Poland and 521 Megawatts in Romania.
