E.ON has successfully closed a new syndicated credit line worth 4.7 billion euro, with a five-year term and two one-year extension options each. In addition, the amount can be increased by up to 1 billion euros during the term of the agreement.

The purpose of this credit line is to ensure the liquidity of the group at any time. It replaces the previous syndicated credit line of 3.5 billion euros before its maturity in October 2026. The amount was increased to 4.7 billion euros to support E.ON’s organic growth.

The transaction was placed, again, with a group of 21 banks and the credit spread remains unchanged. Commerzbank and UniCredit coordinated the syndication.

Nadia Jakobi, CFO of E.ON, said: “Through our financing strategy, we are laying the foundation for the essential investments needed to achieve the energy transition. The loan granted by the banking consortium confirms E.ON’s position as a reliable player and places us in an excellent position to continue our path to steady growth.”
