Two thirds of Germans do not consider a major problem for the environment the high electricity consumption of data centers, caused by video streaming, reveals a survey conducted recently by the market research institute Kantar and E.ON.

According to the study, 71% of German Internet users either are not aware or simply ignore the high electricity consumption of the data centers.

The conclusions of the study send an alarm signal in relation to aspects that tend to go unnoticed and which result from the use of streaming platforms. Even if there are no specific data available for Romania, there may be similarities considering that our country enjoys very good Internet speeds. As a result, online data consumption is encouraged, which is also proven by the popularity of streaming platforms.
