Starting Tuesday, July 15, electric vehicle drivers have access to Romania’s largest charging hub, located in the parking lot of the VIVO! Pitești shopping center. The new project marks an important moment for the development of electric mobility in Romania and is part of E.ON Drive Infrastructure Romania’s strategy to expand the network of modern, fast and easily accessible charging points.
The hub includes 50 charging points, with varying powers: 6 ultra-fast charging points, with a maximum power of up to 300 kW; 12 fast charging points, with a maximum power of up to 50 kW and 32 AC charging points, with a maximum power of up to 11 kW.
Through this combination of technologies, the hub meets the various needs of users, being ideal both for drivers in transit, due to the immediate proximity to the A1 Highway and the presence of ultra-fast charging stations, and for visitors to the shopping center, who can leave their vehicle to charge while shopping or doing other activities.
All fast and ultra-fast charging points in the E.ON network are equipped with bank POS, allowing direct payment by card, without applications, accounts or subscriptions. Paying for charging sessions thus becomes easier and faster for all users.
The VIVO! Pitești project is part of the European DRIVE-E Global initiative, one of the 39 innovative initiatives recently selected by the European Union for the development of alternative fuel infrastructure. As part of this project, 1,400 public charging points will be installed in 13 EU Member States by the end of 2027, of which 430 will be dedicated to heavy commercial trucks, each with a minimum power of 350 kW. DRIVE-E will significantly contribute to the electrification of European freight and passenger transport, accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility. With the opening of the VIVO! Pitești hub, E.ON Drive Infrastructure Romania exceeds the threshold of 400 public charging points available in our country, continuing its commitment to supporting electric mobility through accessible and high-performance infrastructure.
