Distrigaz Sud Rețele made, in 2025, total investments of 558 million lei in the natural gas distribution network, directed towards two strategic objectives: the safe operation of the distribution system and the development of the natural gas infrastructure. According to data provided by the company, most of the funds, namely 353 million lei, were allocated to the modernization of the distribution system, by replacing steel pipes with polyethylene ones (with superior technical parameters and a longer lifespan). Thus, 162 km of pipes and branches, approximately 15,500 regulation-measuring stations and 201,500 natural gas meters were replaced. To expand the network and connect new customers to the natural gas distribution system, the company allocated 205 million lei last year, representing 37% of the total investment budget. Thus, 380 km of pipelines were put into operation and approximately 13,000 connections were made, connecting 46,300 new customers to the network. The implementation of the company’s annual investment projects, the purchase and use of modern equipment and the latest technologies used in operational activity have contributed, in the last three years, to the significant reduction of natural gas quantities intended for technological consumption, as well as to the reduction of equivalent methane emissions, state Distrigaz Sud Rețele officials. In parallel, Distrigaz Sud Rețele continued the process of digitalizing the services offered to its customers, being, at the same time, the first natural gas distribution operator to implement the ePortalDGSR platform. Through it, customers can submit online connection applications and related documents, transmit the consumption index and access information regarding the validity of checks/inspections of natural gas use facilities, as well as consumption history. In 2025, 84% of all connection applications, 94% of all applications for commissioning natural gas use facilities, 70% of all applications for approvals and 84% of all checks/inspection sheets of natural gas use facilities were submitted to the online platform. In the last 21 years of presence on the energy market, the total investments of Distrigaz Sud Rețele have reached approximately 1,340 million euros, contributing to the significant transformation of the natural gas distribution network. Thus, the total length of the network almost doubled from 14,200 km to 24,483 km. 8,936 km of pipelines were rehabilitated and modernized, with steel pipelines being replaced with polyethylene pipelines, with superior technical performance and extended service life, the share of the network made of polyethylene increasing from 23% to 75%. Also, the number of customers connected to the natural gas distribution network doubled, currently reaching over 2.32 million.
