Delgaz Grid started smart metering in Iasi, an investment of over 45 million lei

The teams of the contractors of the distribution company Delgaz Grid started, in August, the execution works in the field for the implementation of the smart metering project in Iași county, being already installed about 1,000 smart meters and 160 electrical panels.

The investment will include more than 10,000 meters, and the related low voltage distribution network will be rehabilitated by replacing 8.8 km of cables and more than 1,800 electrical panels. At the same time, the hardware infrastructure and software applications necessary for the operation of the intelligent measurement system will be implemented.

”Despite the difficult context caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we keep our promise to our customers to provide them with better services. I am convinced that our effort will be found in improving the quality of services and a high degree of continuity of electricity distribution,” said Csulak Ferenc, General Manager of Delgaz Grid.

Interruptions in the power supply are also necessary for certain safe operations, consumers being notified in advance.

In recent years, about 320,000 smart meters have been installed for Moldova region consumers, through successive investment programs worth about 130 million lei. For the period 2019-2028, the company’s goal is to install about 397,000 meters, the value of investments being of about 127.3 million lei. This means that more than 700,000 customers, representing 45% of the total customers connected to the company’s electricity network, will have smart meters installed by the end of 2028.
