Four localities of the Medieșu Aurit commune: Băbășești, Potău, Iojib and Românești were connected to the natural gas distribution network following the investments made by the Delgaz Grid company, in partnership with the local authorities. The four distribution networks add up to over 28 kilometers of pipelines and natural gas branches, the total value of the investments being around 3.2 million lei.
Thus, in the towns of Băbășești and Potău, the distribution network newly established and put into operation at the beginning of this year stretches over 13 kilometers in length. The total value of the investment is 1.6 million lei, 51% being made by the network operator, the Delgaz Grid company. In the town of Iojib, the 11.5-kilometer network has been operational since the end of last year, the investment worth almost 1.2 million lei being 33% made by Delgaz Grid.
For the realization of the distribution network from Românești, completed in 2020 and having a length of almost 4 kilometers, approximately 440,000 lei were allocated, a third of the distribution company’s funds, and the rest by the Medieșu Aurit City Hall.
In order to enjoy natural gas in their homes or at work the residents of Băbășești, Potău, Iojib, institutions and companies in the area must go through the stage of making individual connections.
“The public-private partnership meant for Medieșul Aurit the supply of natural gas to four localities of the commune, through a distribution network of over 28 kilometers. At the level of the entire company, in 2023, in collaboration with the local authorities, we established new natural gas distributions in 14 localities,” says Cristian Ifrim, Deputy General Director of Delgaz Grid.
“It is a great achievement for us that we managed to bring the gas to Medieșu Aurit commune. The collaboration with our partner Delgaz Grid was very good and we thank all the specialists who were involved in the realization of these projects dedicated to our community,” also said Marian George Torok, the mayor of the Medieșu Aurit commune.
In 2023, Delgaz Grid established 14 natural gas distributions, the total length of the constructed network exceeding 110 km. The largest natural gas distribution out of the 14 established in 2023 in partnership with local authorities is the one in Toplița municipality (Harghita county), with a length of 35 kilometers.
