The Supervisory Board of Hidroelectrica has decided to appoint Iulius-Dan Plaveti as chairman of the Hidroelectrica Board, starting with May 29, 2026, according to a report submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

The Supervisory Board of Hidroelectrica approved on Friday the appointment of the new members of the Board, following the completion of the selection process carried out in accordance with the legislation on corporate governance of public enterprises.

Thus, Iulius-Dan Plaveti was appointed as a member of the Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), his mandate to run until November 7, 2027. He will officially take over the position after renouncing all positions of administrator or director held in boards of directors, supervisory boards and directorates, both in state-owned and private companies.

At the same time, Mihail-Dan Stan was appointed member of the Board of Directors and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), with a term of office valid until the same date, November 7, 2027.

The decision marks the completion of the selection process of the company’s executive management and ensures the continuity of management for the next period. The current interim CEO of the company, Bogdan Badea, withdrew from the selection process.

Iulius-Dan Plaveti is a member of the Board of Directors of Romgaz, with a term of office until 2027 (November 11, 2025 – March 16, 2027). Previously, he was the President of the CE Oltenia Directorate (since 2023), General Manager of Hidroserv (2018-2021), member of the SB of Transelectrica (2017), member of the Board of Directors of Tulcea Gaz (since 2015) and held the positions of President of ANRE (2010-12) and, respectively, Vice President of ANRE (2009-10). He previously held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of CFR Călători (2015-17), General Manager of Tarom (2016-17) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Airports Company of Bucharest (2008-09).

Iulius-Dan Plaveti graduated from the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of UP Bucharest (1988-93).
