E.ON România

Dăruieşte lumină

E.ON Energie Romania donated 100,000 kWh (equivalent in electricity or gas) to 12 schools, hospitals, special centers for children and nursing homes. Carried out during April 6th-25th 2015, the ” Dăruieşte lumină” campaign allowed Romanians, by a simple click on Facebook, to direct a kWh to one of the beneficiary institutions. Tens of thousands of supporters transformed small gestures in a big help.

The campaign raised awareness among a large number of people, as witnessed by the sheer number of bloggers and public figures, celebrities and civic activists who have distributed it in social media. Among them: Andi Moisescu, Teo Trandafir, Irina Binder, Amalia Enache, Gheorghe Hagi, Paula Chirilă, Andrei Gheorghe, Andra and Cătălin Măruță, Ana Morodan and Tony Poptămaş. Also, Vlad Petreanu, Moise Guran and the team from Biziday, Cristian China Birta, Hotnews and the Facebook page of ProTV News wrote about this project.

GDF SUEZ Energy România

Everything starts at home!!

80 children without parental care have now a more welcoming home to enjoy childhood. The social houses in the SOS Children’s Villages Bucharest were renovated and made more energy efficient through the program “Everything starts at home!” funded by GDF SUEZ Energy Romania and carried out in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Romania.

During the two-year project, the thermal insulation of houses and attics was executed, roofs, doors and windows were replaced and heating plants were changed. The energy performance class of the 12 houses has been improved substantially, which means reduced maintenance costs. GDF SUEZ Energy Romania (which has recently adopted the trademark ENGIE) invested EUR 350,000 and involved over 100 employees in rehabilitation works.

“We were happy to support this social project in partnership with SOS Children’s Villages and Habitat for Humanity, energy efficiency representing a priority concern for our company. The project is part of our social responsibility axes to support, on the one hand, vulnerable categories and secondly to encourage energy efficiency measures among consumers of natural gas. In addition, I am proud of the mobilization of our colleagues, who always responded enthusiastically to calls for volunteering and were directly involved in the success of the program”, said Eric Stab, CEO of GDF SUEZ Energy Romania.
