The Federation of Employers of Construction Companies (FPSC), together with the Builders› Social House and the General Federation of Unions Familia, as social partners, calls on the Government of Romania to extend the measures of social protection of the employees during the state of emergency.

„The Builders› Social House ensures the protection of the employees in the construction sector during the interruption of activity due to adverse weather conditions, according to Law 215/1997 on the establishment of the Social House, but the law is not applicable in the exceptional situation faced by Romania today. Urgent modification of the law would allow the granting of an allowance to the employees with an individual employment contract, in a monthly amount of 75% of the average for the last 3 months of the gross basic salary, during the pandemic period,“ explains the representatives of the construction employers, in a statement quoted by Agerpres.

According to the quoted source, the proposed change does not affect the state budget, but supports employers and implicitly employees in overcoming the period of COVID-19.
