The Competition Council has authorized the transaction through which some assets and activities are transferred from the Rohrer Group to the Petroleum Services Group (GSP), a statement of the authority shows.

According to the quoted source, some companies that are members of the GSP group (GSP Offshore, Group Oil Services Logistic, Sea Protect Group Fire and Group Oil Services Catering) will acquire assets and take over some activities and related personnel from three companies of the Rohrer group in Austria (Rohrer Oilfield Services, Rohrer Catering Services and Rohrer Emergency Services).

“The transaction aims to provide maintenance services for the oil and gas industry, as well as cleaning, disinfection and deratization services at offshore and onshore locations, as a result of GSP Offshore SRL winning a public tender organized by OMV Petrom SA. Following the assessment of the effects of the economic concentration, the Competition Council found that the proposed operation does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition on the Romanian market or a substantial part of it and there are no serious doubts about its compatibility with a normal competitive environment,” mentions the statement quoted by Agerpres.

The Rohrer Group operates mainly in the field of industrial insulation, industrial cleaning, scaffolding and fluid transport for the oil and gas industry.

The companies within the GSP Group carry out offshore drilling and offshore construction, oil equipment production and tourism activities.
