Competition analyses the transaction through which Omv Petrom acquires 50% of Electrocentrale Borzești

The Competition Council is analyzing the operation by which OMV Petrom intends to acquire from RNV Infrastructure 50% of the shares of Electrocentrale Borzești.

OMV Petrom SA and RNV Infrastructure SRL intend to jointly own Electrocentrale Borzești and the companies owned by it, respectively Hoopeks International, Green Labs Advertising, Union Wind, Borzești Wind and Borzești Power.

Currently, Electrocentrale Borzești is owned by RNV Infrastructure.

Electrocentrale Borzești produces electricity. The companies wholly owned by Electrocentrale Borzești aim to develop more electricity production capacities from renewable sources, namely four wind farms and a photovoltaic park, which will be built in the north-eastern area of Romania.

RNV Infrastructure is part of the Renovatio Group, a group active through several companies in Romania in the development, generation, marketing, supply and management of assets in the field of renewable energy.

OMV Petrom Group carries out activities of exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas, refining and distribution of fuels, generation of electricity, as well as trading of natural gas and electricity.
