More than 80% of Romanians believe that renewable energy is very important or quite important for the sustainability of the economy in the years to come, in the context where over 70% draw attention that pollution is a major problem in Romania, according to a survey initiated by CIS Gaz , Romanian company active in the natural gas industry.

“Companies and governments around the world have at the top of their list of priorities solving the challenges related to sustainability and reducing pollution, to ensure that the society of the future is a truly “green” one. An extremely important pillar here is the perception of the end user, who notices any progress made in this area. In Romania, over 90% of subjects point out that more investments should be made to increase the sustainability of the energy system,” according to a survey initiated by CIS Gaz, quoted by News.ro.

Thus, over 65% of Romanians believe that among the first targets of these investments should be the transport and distribution network and the installations, followed by the condition of the pipelines and pipes (almost 31%).

At the same time, over 80% of Romanians believe that renewable energy is very important or quite important for the sustainability of the economy in the years to come, in the context where over 70% draw attention that pollution is a major problem in Romania, while over 25 % consider pollution to be quite an important problem in Romania.

However, the majority of respondents (57%) would not be willing to make investments or pay more for clean energy sources, even if 1 in 2 Romanians indicate the energy produced by solar panels as the type of energy they would prefer use it.

“Economic sustainability is a priority for companies and governments across the planet, and rightly so. Reducing the impact on the environment is very important if we want to leave behind a better and cleaner world for our children. Caring for the environment is part of our company’s DNA, being one of the basic pillars of our development strategy,” says Sebastian Călugăr, CEO, CIS Gaz.

The CIS Gaz survey on Romanians’ perception of energy system problems was carried out, at the national level, in June 2023 through the iVox platform, on a total sample of 1,383 Internet users from Romania. A little over 50% of the participants are men, over 48% are at least 45 years old, and over 86% live in urban areas.

CIS Gaz is a Romanian company with 100% private capital, founded in 1990 and is today one of the largest players in the oil and natural gas industry in Romania, specializing in the execution of surface technological installations, natural gas collection pipelines, of natural gas transport pipelines and their related compression stations, as well as the execution of connections and natural gas regulation-measuring stations.
