Gas and electricity supply contracts are mostly valid or have prices valid until March 31, 2025, so gas price offers have begun to appear after this date, claims the president of the Smart Energy Association (AEI), Dumitru Chisăliță.

“Even if, according to current legislation, it would be necessary to offer and draw up new sales and purchase contracts, suppliers are not rushing to send offers. Of course, they also have many unknowns regarding the gas purchase price after April 1, 2025. If we follow the ANRE page – Gas Price Comparator – after April 1, 2025, we find that there are offers from 4 companies that are actually owned by the same shareholder, the offers being 100% identical down to the last decimal point and all having the price of 0.31 lei/kWh with VAT included, the price being valid until September 2025,” states the president of AEI.

According to the Sales Contract of the suppliers who made these offers, the modification of the contract price can be made at the initiative of the supplier, who only has the obligation to “notify the end customer, in a transparent and easy-to-understand manner, of any intention to modify the basic price, specifying the reasons prior to the modification and its scope of application, directly and in a timely manner, at least 30 days before the modification enters into force,” claims Dumitru Chisăliță.
