This year, approaching gestures, visits and time spent with seniors should be replaced with responsible actions designed to protect and comfort them.

Near Easter, the CEZ Group in Romania will provide basic food for 1,750 elderly people, foods that will be distributed through the Romanian Red Cross partner – the branches of Argeş, Gorj, Dolj, Vâlcea, Mehedinţi, Teleorman and Olt, but also with the support to the social offices of the town halls of the CEZ community.

In total, over 17,500 kg of food worth approx. 171,500 lei will be granted.
The beneficiaries are elderly people over 65, without family, with medical and social problems, and the food packages will provide them with the necessary food not only for holidays, but also for the next two weeks.

“Faithful to its humanitarian mission, the Romanian Red Cross is hard tested these days and it is struggling to meet the needs of vulnerable people, old people alone and without material possibilities. Therefore, we appreciate the spirit of human solidarity that our partners from CEZ have shown,” stated, in a joint statement, the representatives of the Red Cross branches (Argeș, Gorj, Dolj, Vâlcea, Mehedinți, Olt and Teleorman).
