A heating problem this winter is called Bucharest, where Termoenergetica still owes 700 million lei to Elcen, the company of the Ministry of Energy, the Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, said on Tuesday at a specialized conference.

“A heating problem this winter is called Bucharest, where the mayor general (Nicusor Dan, n.r.) has not yet responded to an address that I made about four months ago and in which I pointed the fact that there is a significant debt at Termoenergetica towards Elcen. The company of the Ministry of Energy produces the thermal agent and produces it under the correct conditions, even if it also needs investments. But Termoenergetica still owes 700 million lei to Elcen, and the money would good luck to the team there to be able to purchase the gas in the coming months. All that remains for me is to continue my monologue and make a new public appeal to Mr. Nicusor Dan to do his job and pay this money,” stressed Burduja, quoted by Agerpres.

Last month, the Minister of Energy declared, on the occasion of a visit to CET SUD, that the General City Hall of the Capital still has to pay a balance of 700 million lei to Electrocentrale Bucharest, out of the debt of one billion lei, as well as the fact that Elcen needs this money in order not to have any kind of problem, “otherwise there will surely be some difficulties.”

At the end of October, the mayor of the Capital, Nicuşor Dan, mentioned that the debt of the Termoenergetica company to Elcen is approximately 600 million lei, and the amount owed by the City Hall to Termoenergetica is zero.

“The debt of the Termoenergetica company to Elcen is approximately 600 million lei. The debt of the Municipality to Termoenergetica is zero, at the moment. Indeed, we can recognize some losses from the past, but the recognition of these losses requires an audit effort, for the readjustment of some prices, which ANRE did not give at the right time,” said Dan, on the occasion of a visit to the Grant Bridge.

The official estimated that by mid-December, the audit would be completed.

“Just as they gave the decision of the General Council through which they gave the 400 million, we will give another decision of the Council, through which they give the amount they have in their account, which is somewhere around 400 million,” added the mayor.
