Bulgaria’s electricity production increased by an annual 13.57% to 22,229 GWh between January 1 and July 13, the country’s Electricity System Operator (ESO) said, quoted by Seenews.
Domestic power consumption rose by 6.4% on the year to some 20,701 GWh, ESO said in a weekly data release.
The country’s power trade surplus jumped to 1,528 GWh in the review period from 116 GWh a year earlier.
In annual terms, the volume of renewable energy in the transmission network went up by 19.91% to 2,091 GWh, whereas the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system grew by 25.4% to 2,172 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants, however, decreased by 23.8% year-on-year to 1,580 GWh in the period under review.
