Black Sea Oil and Gas is analyzing the possibility of building an offshore wind farm at the Black Sea, Mark Beacom, CEO of BSOG, told Energynomics.

“We are analyzing this possibility, but we need clear legislation, a predictable and stable horizon,” he said, after the discussions at the Romanian International Gas Conference 2022, an event organized by FPPG.

“The Black Sea has enormous potential and we believe in this potential,” said Beacom. He also said that it is possible for BSOG to increase the current gas production, but decisions will be made following discussions with the government and Transgaz and the certainty of securing the necessary permitting documents.

BSOG is the first company to recently open a new offshore gas route in the shallow Black Sea. The MGD project will supply about 1 billion cubic meters of gas annually, under current conditions.
