Investors who bought four years ago shares of the issuer The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE), which was listed on its own market, could gain 78.7%, a level derived only from the price increase of its shares in the last four years. Also they can take into account dividends offered by the company during this period, a press release of the capital market operator said.

Thus, at the end of June 2013, the price of a BSE share was about 18.3 lei, so that on June 30, 2017 the price of BSE would rise to 32.7 lei. “It is a significant gain for BVB shareholders. The stock market capitalization of the BSE has risen from 140 million lei in the end of June 2013 to over 250 million lei at the end of June 2017, which means an increase of 110 million lei.

„In addition to this 80% increase, if we also take into account the dividend yield of the company in these years, then we are talking about a doubling of the investment for the shareholders,” said Lucian Anghel, president of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

BSE shares have performed well above the BET market index, which has also made a significant advance of nearly 50% over the last four years, according to Agerpres. “The performance of the capital market operator is all the more remarkable, as it significantly exceeds the growth rate of the BET index, the main index of the Romanian stock market. At the end of June 2013, the BET index stands at almost 5,262 points, That at the end of June this year it would reach 7,855 points, during which time the BET increase was 49%. Moreover, the first half of this year was a very good one for BSE as regards financial results.

The operating result of the BSE Group was 5.98 million lei, up almost 5 times compared to the same semester of 2016. The net profit of the period thus stood at 5.15 million lei, in the first half, up 180% compared to the same period in 2016,” mentions the quoted source.
