Bistrița City Hall has signed the financing contract for the Sărata photovoltaic panel park. The new facility in the city’s outskirts is financed by the Modernization Fund (MF) and should be ready by August 2026.

Mayor Gabriel Lazany claims that the investment will be made on a plot of land located in the city’s outskirts, measuring 47,593 square meters, adjacent to the Bistrița Sud Industrial Park.

The facility is a system of monocrystalline photovoltaic panels mounted on the ground. The photovoltaic plant will consist of 7,336 PV modules, and the total power of the park will be 3.9 MWAC. The systems will be equipped with 13 three-phase inverters, according to Transilvania Business.

The value of the project is 25 million lei, with 100% non-reimbursable financing. It aims to offset the own electricity consumption of public lighting and municipal buildings. The project must be implemented by August 31, 2026

One of the indicators is the annual reduction of greenhouse gas emissions of 2,650 tons of CO2 equivalent per year. The average electricity production from renewable sources is estimated at 4,331 MWh/year.
