The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) has launched an investigation at Transelectrica to establish the causes that led to Tuesday’s damage at the Fundeni transformer station, which caused a power outage in sector 2 of the Capital, ANRE representatives told Agerpres.

“We will investigate the causes that led to this breakdown in Transelectrica’s Fundeni station, as a result of which a significant number of consumers were left without power supply. We will analyze which performance indicators were not met and we will impose fines if be the case,” they said.

According to them, there are consumers who had not been refueled even on Tuesday afternoon.

ANRE representatives also said that the entire Fundeni station was affected, but they could not specify exactly the number of Bucharest residents that were left without electricity.

Contacted by Agerpres, Transelectrica representatives stated that they maintain their position according to which all consumers have been refueled since 11:40 in the morning.

The power supply was interrupted in sector 2 of the Capital, on Tuesday morning, following an incident at the Fundeni transformer station.
