Annual inflation rate stagnated at 9.8% in November

    The annual inflation rate stagnated at 9.8% in November of this year, as services rose by 10.99%, non-food goods by 10.73% and food goods by 7.64%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics.

    “The consumer price index in November 2025 compared to October 2025 was 100.42%. The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (November 2025 compared to December 2024) was 9.5%. The annual inflation rate in November 2025 compared to November 2024 was 9.8%. The average rate of change in consumer prices in the last 12 months (December 2024 – November 2025) compared to the previous 12 months (December 2023 – November 2024) was 6.9%,” the INS press release states, according to Agerpres.

    The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP), an indicator for determining inflation at the level of EU member states, in November compared to October was 100.49%.

    The annual inflation rate in November 2025 compared to November 2024 calculated on the basis of the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was 8.6%.

    The average rate of change in consumer prices in the last 12 months (December 2024 – November 2025) compared to the previous 12 months (December 2023 – November 2024) determined on the basis of the HICP was 6.5%.

    The National Bank of Romania (BNR) has revised upwards, to 9.6%, from 8.8% previously, the inflation forecast for the end of 2025 and anticipates that it will reach 3.7% at the end of 2026, compared to 3% in the previous forecast, according to data presented in November by the Governor of the BNR, Mugur Isărescu.
