The climate transition cannot exist without the energy transition, and the energy transition is not possible without digitalization. It is a logical chain that Alexandru Cojocaru, Services Director at Schneider Electric Romania, clearly and convincingly explained during the session “Flow and Frequency: Managing the Energy Pulse” at the 11th Energy Strategy Summit, the flagship event of Energynomics.

“No climate transition without energy transition and no energy transition without digital. For Schneider Electric, digital is a key component of a simple equation that has defined us in recent years: digital plus electric means sustainable,” Cojocaru emphasized.

In Schneider Electric’s vision, digitization is not just a cutting-edge technology, but an operational foundation that enables the entire industry to become more efficient, competitive and sustainable. The company has bet on this transformation through a solid strategy built on two main pillars. The first is the consolidation and diversification of its software portfolio through successive partnerships and acquisitions, a move that has enabled the expansion of its digital capabilities and the integration of the latest solutions in the market.

The second pillar is a firm commitment that all equipment produced by Schneider Electric is pluggable. This connectivity is not an end in itself, but an essential means to collect, analyze and use operational data in real time.

“The added value of artificial intelligence is that of a major catalyst for the interpretation of data that would otherwise remain a mere amount of information”, explained Alexandru Cojocaru. He pointed out that without this digital transformation, the huge volumes of data generated by modern energy infrastructure risk remaining unused or inefficiently exploited.

In a European context that is accelerating the prioritization of smart grids and the integration of renewables, Schneider Electric is positioning its strategy as one focused on sustainability and efficiency. The company is no longer just a supplier of electrical equipment, but a digital consulting and services partner capable of integrating these solutions directly into customers’ critical processes.

For the Romanian energy sector, Alexandru Cojocaru’s message is clear: digitalization is not a fad, but a condition for survival in an increasingly volatile and complex market. And artificial intelligence is not a futuristic element, but a practical tool that can transform raw data into informed and efficient decisions – catalyzing the very energy transition we need.
